Last week we lost another legend in the world of prion science. Bryon Caughey was not only one of the most respected scientist in this field but he also cared about the patients and their families. He contributed over many years to the CJD foundation family conference in US and was a scientific advisor for their grant program. He was also a very valued member of the 'Friends and Advisors Group' of the CJD International Support Alliance contributing to our work of support patient associations globally. In 2016 he specifically came to Australia to attended our Australian annual National family conference and like all our international keynote speakers he covered the cost of travel to share with our families his expansive knowledge and expertise.
