In loving memory of Raymond (Ray) Crease Reeves
Born 15 June 1940 – Died 28 April 2022
Ray was a devoted family man – first and foremost. He was so proud of his daughters, grandkids and great grandkids – in fact one of the last things Dad said was that he has always been so proud of his five girls.
He was hard-working, reliable and loyal with a cheeky sense of humour – often wanting to show family and friends something he’d taped on the TV or read in the paper – especially the cartoon or joke of the day in the Courier-Mail.
He read the Courier-Mail daily from cover to cover and was across the issues of the day, especially the political ones. He always had an opinion whether you wanted to hear it or not!
Ray was also a wonderful community man – he was a life member of the RSL and until recently served on its committee of management. He was also a life member of the Stanthorpe Swimming Club – something he was extremely proud of.
He loved Stanthorpe and being part of it and regularly said “why would I want to be anywhere else?”.
Many people were the recipients of Dad’s kindness when he regularly visited friends and family in the local aged care home – in fact his last visit to one of his friends was only around six weeks before he passed away.
Ray will be sorely missed by all those who crossed his path and especially by his family and friends.
